Marlys Hauser, 77, Foxholm, ND, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at a Minot Hospital.
Marlys E. Pierson was born November 25, 1945, daughter of Robert and Nadeen (Frye) Pierson, in Minot, ND. She attended school in Minot where she graduated in 1963.
Marlys was united in marriage to the love of her life, Lawrence “Larry” Hauser on June 5, 1965 at St. Mary’s Church in Foxholm, ND, where they remain current members. Marlys and Larry started their life together on their dairy farm on the hill where they happily expanded their family by five when they welcomed Karla, Kim, Todd, Kristi and Keri.
Marlys cherished her family and many friends. She enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma. She always had a smile on her face when loved ones were around.
Over the years Marlys was employed at Ward Drug, The Better Half, and MTI where she made many lifelong friendships. She enjoyed various hobbies including knitting, crocheting, baking, playing Scrabble/Words, and journaling. She especially loved card games with all who stopped by. Marlys was a long time member of Hearth and Home Homemakers. She enjoyed attending her monthly meetings with these precious friends.
The house on the hill is where Marlys’ seven grandchildren spent many happy holidays, gatherings and sleepovers. Her seven greats valued their time with their great-grandma Mar at Parshall Bay celebrating summer and family time together.
Marlys’ fun loving and social nature will live on in our hearts forever.

Grandchildren, Kacey Brown, Kole (Kylie) Brown, Tylor (Jenn) Miller, Jorden (Nathan) Beckman, Zakary Brown (Melissa McDonough), Mykell Bosch (Matt Scheen), Collyn Bosch; great-grandchildren, Kinley, Koen, and Kamry Brown, Zaylee and Noli Beckman, Emmitt and Savannah Miller; Siblings, Ron (Jean) Pierson, Apache Junction, AZ, Dianna Johnson, Minot.
Marlys was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Nadeen Pierson; brothers, Milo and Harlan Pierson.
Visitation: Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Prayer Service: Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.
Funeral: Thursday, January 5, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Foxholm, ND.

Interment: St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Foxholm, ND.
Memorials: Marlys prefers a church filled with flowers as she was unable to enjoy them due to her respiratory illnesses.
