Lila Reich

Lila Reich, 85, Minot, ND, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022, in her home.

Lila Ann Peterson Colby was born August 28, 1937, the daughter of Lewis and Louise (Krumwiede)Peterson. Her father died when she was 9 months old and she was raised her mother and step-father Arthur Colby, whom her mother married when Lila was 4 years old. She was raised and educated in the Bergen, Voltaire area, graduating from Bergen High School in 1955.

On August 28, 1959, Lila was united in marriage to Chester Reich. The couple made their home on a small farm in the Logan area, where together they raised their sons. Lila and Chester raised Appaloosa horses and later elk. In addition to working on the family farm, Lila worked as a Pathology Secretary for 46 years at Trinity Hospital before retiring in March of 2004.

Lila enjoyed the outdoors which included hunting, fishing, and yard work. As a child she loved to hunt with her dad. She did ceramics for many years. Lila loved sports, attending most all of her sons, grand-daughters, nieces and nephews’ games. She was a great fan of the Minnesota Vikings and had attended many games in Minneapolis.

She was an active member of the Saron Lutheran Church, rural Minot. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be missed by all that knew her.

Lila is survived by: husband of 63 years, Chester sons, Brent (Angie) Reich, Fulton, MO, Bruce (Terry Ann) Reich, Minot grandchildren, India Reich, Mandi (Derek) Williams, Amy Williams, Hollie Powders, and Jordyn (Mitchell) Christensen, Clinton Westcott, great-grandchildren, Riley Fyllesvold, Myles Brown, Kelby Brown.

Several cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; and infant son Aaron.

Visitation: Tuesday, October 25, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Funeral: Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Saron Lutheran Church, Minot.

Graveside service: Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 1 pm at Hjerdahl Lutheran Cemetery, Voltaire, ND.

Memorials: are preferred to Hjerdahl Lutheran Cemetery or Saron Lutheran Church.
