Ruth N. Bickler

Ruth N. Bickler 95,

passed away peacefully at

the Souris Valley Care

Center in Velva on July

20, 2020.

Ruth was born March 9,

1925 in Rugby ND to

Lloyd Berdahl and Marie

Huber. At a very young

age Ruth lost her mother

to tuberculosis and she

then lived with her pater-

nal grandparents. She gra-

duated from Rugby High

School in 1943. After high

school she and a close

friend moved to California

but found she missed the

people of ND and she

moved back to Rugby.

She married the love of

her life, Eddie, and to-

gether they had three chil-

dren. They moved to Vel-

va and made their home

there for their entire mar-

ried life. The had a home

at Strawberry Lake for

many years which she

dearly enjoyed. She was

an avid bowler and golfer

and loved cards, especial-ly bridge. She moved in

2016 to Arizona and lived

at Thunderbird Senior

Living in Glendale. While

she loved the new friends

she made, her heart was

still in ND and she moved

back to Velva in June

2019.

She was employed by

the Velva Clinic for over

20 years. She was a

member of the VFW

Women’s Auxiliary, the

Velva Woman’s club and

the Velva Senior Citizens.

Survivors are: Greg

(Barbara), Sun City West

AZ, daughter Carol, Beu-

lah ND. Grandchildren

Shawn, Castle Rock CO,

Jennifer (Chad) Maurer,

Castle Rock, CO, Jared

(Beatriz) Surprise, AZ,

Krista (Chris) Baytosh

Beulah, ND.

Great-grandchildren, Jus-

tin and Conner Bickler,

Camden, Peyton, Kendall

and Beckett Maurer and

Kiyah and Adley Baytosh.

Sisters-in-law Elsie Ret-

tinghouse, Irene Bickler

and Izzie (Ken) Pommier

and numerous nieces and

nephews.

Ruth was predeceased

by: her husband Eddie,

daughter Holly, parents

and parents in law and

brothers-in-law, Ray and

Emil Bickler and Jack Ret-

tinghouse and

sister-in-law Irene Bickler.

Memorial services will

be held at Oak Valley

Lutheran Church at 10:30

AM on June 19th, 2021

with interment to follow

at the Velva City Ceme-

tary.
