Block was born on July

26, 1936 in Rugby, North

Dakota. He died at the age

of 84 years on Thursday,

January 27, 2021 at Trini-

ty Medical Center in

Minot, North Dakota. He

married Kathlyn Erickson

on October 29, 1958 in

Carpio, ND. He is sur-

vived by his wife of 62

years; children, Jim (Sher-

ri) Block, MaryJane Block,

Jackie (Rod) Burckhard,

Jerry (Teresa) Block, Jodi

(Terry) Fransen and Jason

(Sarah) Block; 11

grandchildren, 7 great

grandchildren and a

brother, Marvin Block.

He was preceded in death

by a son, Jeff and a broth-

er, Garry. Memorial ser-

vices will be held at 11:00

a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul

Lutheran Church in Rug-

by with lunch and fellow-ship to follow at the

Gallow’s in Towner.

Burial will take place in

the summer at Union

Cemetery, Towner.

Friends May Call from

5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on

Monday/TODAY at the
