Bill Synnott

William “Bill” Edward

Synnott, 68, passed away

at home in Windsor

Heights, Iowa, on October

10, 2020, from complica-

tions of COPD.

He was born March 21,

1952, in Elmira, NY to

Delores (Thoreson) Syn-

nott and William J. Syn-

nott.

Bill graduated from

Minot High School,

Minot, ND in 1970. He

participated in football,

track, and wrestling. Bill

was a two time state wres-

tling champion. He at-

tended the University of

North Dakota, where he

met Donna Shaver.

In 1977, Bill and Donna

moved to Des Moines,

Iowa. Bill was employed

in building maintenance.

Bill and Donna married

on April 6, 1984. Bill en-

joyed camping, rock tum-

bling, and his pet cats.

Bill is survived by his

wife, Donna Shaver; his

parents, Delores (Thore-

son) Synnott, Minot, ND

and William J. Synnott,

Lincoln, NE; siblings,

Kevin (Diane) Synnott,

Minot, ND, Delane (Roger)

Johnson, Grand Forks,

ND, Kate Spain, Fargo,

ND, and Brian (Molly)

Synnott, Briggsville, WI;

several nieces, nephews,

and cousins.
