Jayne A. Kautzman, 71,

Ellendale, ND, formerly of

Minot, ND passed away

on Thursday, January 16,

2020 in a Ellendale Care

Facility.

Jayne Ann Harder was

born on September 27,

1948, a daughter of Gor-

don and Nellie (Toy)

Harder in Harvey, ND.

She was raised and edu-

cated in various cities in

ND, graduating from

Washburn High School in

1966. After graduation she

furthered her education at

Minot State University

where she majored in the

education.

In 1974, Jayne was un-

ited in marriage to Bruce

Kautzman in New Town

and in 1976 they wel-

comed a son, Ned. Jayne

made her home in the

Minot area, where she

worked at GNC for several

years until deciding to go

to travel agency school in

the late 1980’s because of

her love to travel. In 1989

the family moved to

Bismarck to pursue career

opportunities. Several

years later she returned to

Minot and worked as a

switchboard operator at

Trinity Hospital.

Jayne always supported

a sweet tooth and would

have considered herself a

bit of a chocoholic. She

was an excellent baker,

who baked amazing pies

and loved to decorate

cakes. She also loved to

be in the kitchen cooking

for large groups of people.

She demonstrated mi-

crowaves for a few years

and could make and serve

an entire meal from appet-

izer to dessert to a room

full of people in a span of

a couple hours.

She was fun, funny and

had a great sense of

humor. Jayne was a

member of Our Lady of

Grace Catholic Church.

Jayne was preceded in

death by her parents and

a niece Ramey Reeves.

A private family grave-

side service will take

place in the spring at

Rosehill Memorial Park,

Minot. A public graveside

service will take place at a

later date.
