Ronald D. Mantz, 74,
Minot, passed away De-
cember 9, 2019 at Sanford
Health – Bismarck. Fun-
eral Services will be held
at 11:00 AM Monday, De-
cember 16, 2019, at
DaWise-Perry Funeral
Services, Mandan, with
Rev. Alan Wagner officiat-ing. Visitation is one hour
prior to the service at the
funeral home. Burial will
be in North Dakota
Veterans Cemetery.
Ron was born June 5,
1945 at Bismarck, to
Robert Sr. and Lena (Mill-
er) Mantz. He was raised
and educated in Center.
As a teenager, he worked
in Utah to help support
the family. He was drafted
into the US Army on
March 16, 1966 to serve
his country in Vietnam
and was honorably
discharged on March 15,
1968. He was a lifetime
member of the Minot
VFW and American Le-
gion. Ron worked as a
salesman for Sweetheart
Bakery in Minot, retiring
after 30 years of service.
He loved to hunt, fish and
trap and spend time with
his family. He enjoyed
time at the lake cabin and
on his boat.
He is survived by his
wife, Gloria, Minot; two
daughters, Angela
(Steven) Gutknecht, Ep-
ping, and Lisa (James)
McMillan, Bismarck; two
stepsons, Tracy Klein,
Minot, and Jamy (Jana)
Klein, Denver; one sister,
Mildred Leidholm, Wash-
burn; two brothers, Gary
(Eileen) Mantz, and
Robert (Gail) Mantz, both
of Mandan; three
grandchildren, Colton
(Jami), Madison, and
McKenzie (Kavin) Dvorak;
three step-grandchildren,
Kevin, Ethan, and Ian;
and numerous nieces,
nephews and special
friends.
Ron was preceded in
death by his parents;
brothers, Marvin, Neal,
Larry, and Lyle; and step-
son, Steve.
