Marjorie Hilda Hansen

was born March 6, 1932,

the daughter of Elmer and

Florinda (Bowen) Hansen,

in Ryder, ND. She was

raised and educated in

Ryder. She enjoyed shar-

ing stories of going out to

the field to get the cows,

and being stormed in at

the school her sister, Ar-

lene, taught at. Marjorie

enjoyed caring for her

nieces and nephews while

still living at home. She

was a nanny for a period

of time in Montana, and

this experience carried

over into her later caring

for her own children,

grandchildren and great-

grandchildren.

Marjorie was united in

marriage to Rueben “Doc”

Dockter on June 9, 1954.

They made their home in

Minot, where they raised

their five children. Mar-

jorie was a homemaker

and also owned and

operated Superior Clean-

ing from 1982-1986. She

loved living out in East

Side Estates, where she

enjoyed gardening and

feeding any and all things

that would show up in the

yard (both 2 and 4

legged).

Marjorie loved the holi-

days, when the family

would get together and

she would get to use her

china and decorate. She

enjoyed singing Christian

hymns with her sisters

over the years and playing

the piano at home. She

was quick witted and had

many a comeback that

would often surprise you.

Marjorie always signed all

of her cards with, “Jesus

loves you, and so do I.”
