Edna Rose, 102, of

Langdon, ND, passed

away Thursday, Sep-

tember 12, 2019, at Ca-

valier County Memorial

Hospital in Langdon.

Edna Mary Geisen was

born January 19, 1917, in

Dresden, ND, to Anton

and Gertrude (Munster-

man) Geisen. She grew up

and attended Dresden

School and graduated

from St. Alphonsus

School in 1934. She con-

tinued her education at

Valley City State Teachers

College and taught in area

rural schools for four

years. On June 10, 1940,

Edna married Edwin Rose

at Holy Trinity Catholic

Church in Dresden. They

made their home and

farmed in the Langdon

area until retiring in 1978.

In 2005, Edna moved to

Wheatland Estates for

several years and was

currently a resident at Ma-

ple Manor Care Center.

Edna’s greatest joy was

her family and sharing

her interests in sewing,

gardening, coloring, cross-

word puzzles, reading,

knitting, and baking. She

was a member of Perry

Homemakers, Farm Bur-

eau Auxiliary, Hospital

Auxiliary, and was a 4-H

leader for many years.

She was a faithful

member of St. Alphonsus

Catholic Church and their

altar society along with

Catholic Daughters.

Surviving Edna are her

children: Robert (Claudia)

of Eagan, MN, James (Su-

san) of Anchorage, AK,

Mike (Marla) of Minot,

ND, Janice (Sam) Dober-

vich of Fargo, ND, Mar-

garet (Dean) Norman of

Baxter, MN, and Fred (Di-

ane) of New Hope, MN; 13

grandchildren; 15 great-

grandchildren; and many

nieces, nephews and their

families. She was preced-

ed in death by her

parents, husband Edwin,

granddaughter Katherine

Rose, and siblings: John,

Walter, Louise, Bill, and

Fred.

Mass of Christian Buri-

al will be held at 1:00

p.m. on Tuesday, Sep-

tember 17, 2019, at St. Al-

phonsus Catholic Church

in Langdon. Visitation

will be on Monday, Sep-

tember 16, 2019, from

5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

with a 6:00 p.m. Rosary

and 7:00 p.m. prayer ser-

vice at Brooks Funeral

Home and for one hour

prior to service time at the

church on Tuesday. Buri-

al will be at Calvary

Cemetery, Langdon.
