Alvin Dinga

March 15, 1932-Sept. 14, 2019

Alvin Dinga, 87, Minot

and formerly of Kongsberg

died on September 14,

2019 in a Minot hospital.

Alvin Edward Dinga

was born on March 15,

1932 on the family farm

near Kongsberg, ND to

Luke and Dorothy

(Lushenko) Dinga. He was

raised on the family farm

in Olivia Township of

McLean County and at-

tended country schools.

Following his education

he assisted on the family

farm until 1964 when he

moved to Minot.

Alvin married Kathy

Christman in June of 1952

on the Dinga family farm.

They made their home on

a farm in the Kongsberg

area and Alvin assisted

with the operation of the

family farm. They moved

to Minot in 1965 and Al-

vin was employed as a

truck driver and drove cab

for 26 years. Alvin and

Kathy divorced in 1971.

Alvin retired in 1992.

Most recently, he had

been a resident of the

Henry Towers.

Alvin especially en-

joyed collecting Marilyn

Monroe memorabilia,

building model planes,

collecting guns, reloading

ammunition, taxidermy,

hunting and fishing.

Alvin is survived by:

his sons: Mark Dinga of

Wilton, John Dinga of

Minot and Paul (Lisa) Din-

ga of Heber City, Utah;

grandchildren: Kristi

(Jake) Desmond, Mikeal

(Brianna) Dinga, Cassie

Gregory, Shaylee, Cody,

Lake and Lola Dinga;

great-grandchildren: Dani-

ka, Mila, and Jaxon Des-

mond; Hayden and Char-

lee Dinga; Presley, Brielle

and Hazel Gregory; broth-

er: Virgil Dinga of Kongs-

berg and several nieces,

nephews and cousins.

Alvin was preceded in

death by: his parents, sis-

ters: Geraldine Bauer and

Ardella Firrell and

sister-in-law: Linda Dinga.

Celebration of the Life

of Alvin Dinga: Wednes-

day, September 25, 2019

at 1:00 p.m. in Thomas

Family Funeral Home,

Minot.

Interment will be in the

Butte Community

Cemetery.

Visitation will be one

hour prior to the service.
