Edward Frederick “Ted”
Bolte II was born on April
15, 1938 to Kenneth and
Beatrice (Warren) Bolte.
He was raised and edu-
cated in Fargo, ND and
graduated from Fargo
High School.
As a freshman in high
school, Ted’s parents en-
rolled him in a military
school to teach him some
discipline because his dad
had graduated from a mil-
itary academy and was a
believer in a “firm” hand.
He returned home after
one year to finish high
school in Fargo.
After high school and
some college, Ted enlisted
in the U.S. Air Force and
went off to fight in the
“Cold War” and served oc-
casionally as a Chaplain’s
Assistant. After his honor-
able discharge, Ted re-
turned to Fargo where he
worked at his dad’s Tex-

ning in Fargo and then
transferring in 1966 to
Minot with his family. He
worked for 31 years find-
ing employment for many

time married to Mavis
Bolte. In addition to work-
ing for Job Service, Ted
provided temporary pas-
toral services in the rural
communities of Sher-
wood, Mohall, Kenmare,
Bowbells, Donnybrook,
and Coteau. Ted married
Nancy Hustad in June of
1986. They were the
parents of Charles, Ken-
neth and Matthew.
An active community
member, Ted was in-
volved in the DeMolay
International organization
and eventually became a
Mason and Shriner. This
was very special to him.
He was also active in the
Minot Coin Club, Minot
Antique Car Club and
many other organizations.
