Marlys Mehring

May 10, 1935-April 2, 2019

Marlys Anne Mehring

(Moberg), 83, passed away

peacefully at her home in

Mesa, AZ, on April 2,

2019. Marlys was born in

Carrington, ND on May

10, 1935 to James & Ethel

Moberg. She attended

Carrington High School,

where she met the love of

her life Charles James

(Jim) Mehring. In her last

days, she recalled her

eternal love for her hus-

band and their 64 year

journey together. After

they married, Marlys and

Jim lived a short time in

Carrington and Grand

Forks ND, before moving

to Casper Wyo. In 1970,

the family moved to

Minot, ND where they

resided until Jim retired.

After retirement, Jim and

Marlys traveled the coun-

try in their motorhome

before building a winter

home in Mesa AZ. They

returned to ND for sum-

mers and continued to en-

joy their special camping

trips in Canada with fami-

ly and friends. Along with

being a loving and faithful

wife of 64 years to Jim,

who preceded her in

death, Marlys’s uncondi-

tional love and devotion

to her four boys was un-

paralleled. We were

blessed to learn so many

valuable lessons from

Marlys during her 83

years, among them: never

be short on fans, scissors,

or candy; you can never

have too many figurines,

or Hallmark ornaments;

and why communicate

with loved ones by phone

when you can Facetime.

She was an avid reader,

enjoyed watching the

birds in her backyard

oasis, and cherished her

special lunch dates enjoy-

ing Chinese. Marlys never

feared technology and

along with her love of

Facetime, she also en-

joyed playing games and

reading on her iPhone.

Marlys is survived and

will be lovingly remem-

bered by: her sons and

spouses; Mike (Ruth), Pat

(Connie), Joe (Deon), and

Tom; 9 grandchildren; 23

great grandchildren; and

brother Fred (Norma)

Moberg.

In addition to her hus-

band, Jim Mehring, she

was preceeded in death

by her parents James and

Ethel Moberg. She will be

deeply missed by her fam-

ily and many friends.

A celebration of Marlys’

life will be held this sum-

mer in Minot, ND.
