Harriet Louise Thom,
age 84 of Lake Metigoshe,
died Saturday at a Bot-
tineau hospital. A
memorial service will be
held on Friday at 2:00 pm
at the Lake Metigoshe
Christian Center. Visita-
tion will be Thursday
from 1:00 pm until 7:00
pm at the Nero Funeral
Home in Bottineau.
Harriet Louise Thom,
daughter of H.L. and Or-
pha Naomi (Peterson)
Wood, was born on Au-
gust 27, 1934 in Bot-
tineau. She was raised in
Bottineau and graduated
from Bottineau High
School in 1952. On Sep-
tember 5, 1952, she mar-
ried Marvin John Thom in
Bottineau. They lived in
the Kramer area before
moving to Mohall in 1962.
She worked as a medical
assistant at the Renville-
Bottineau Memorial Hos-
pital and the Gokavi Med-
ical Clinic in Mohall. She
later worked as a dental
assistant at Keup Dental
in Mohall. In 2000, they
moved to Lake Metigoshe.
Harriet was a member
of the Zion Lutheran
Church in Mohall and
later the Metigoshe Luth-
eran Church. She was a
member of the Order of
the Eastern Star, served
on the Mohall City Coun-
cil, and Rec. Service
Board at Lake Metigoshe.
She loved all animals,
especially dogs. Abby, her
silky terrier, went every-
where with her, family
football, basketball, and
other school events, as
well as many hours of
driving combine on the
farm.
She enjoyed bowling,
knitting, crocheting, play-
ing bridge and going to
the casino.
Harriet is survived by
her husband of 66 years,
Marvin of Bottineau; sons,
William (Peggy) Thom of
Grand Junction, CO and
Robert (Lorie) Thom of
Maddock, ND; daughter,
Kathryn (Kenton) Onstad
of Parshall, ND; 10 grand-
children; 16 great-grand-
children and numerous
nieces and nephews.
In addition to her
parents, she was preced-
ed in death by a daughter,
Karen Berryman; son,
Kevin Thom; grandson,
Kevin Thom; and sisters,
Francis Stearns and
JoAnn Rusterholz.
Arrangements were
with Nero Funeral Home
