Mary Etta Buell

Mary Etta Buell, age 88,

died on December 1,

2018, at a Fargo care facil-

ity surrounded by her

family. Mary was raised

in Fairbault Co., Minneso-ta. She married Raymond

Buell on October 7, 1950,

in Easton, MN, and they

had three children. Mary

and Ray moved to Minot,

ND in 1963, later moving

to Fargo in 2014.

Mary was active in her

younger years, participat-

ing in leagues for bowling,

tennis and golf. Her work

history varied greatly. She

was as a cook at Bishop

Ryan High School, sales-

woman at Buttreys

Women’s Store, one of the

first TSA agents at the

Minot Airport, Hallmark

Gift Store, and Lowe’s

Garden Center Green-

house. Mary was an avid

reader and seamstress ex-

traordinaire – from simple

alterations to wedding

dresses. She was also the

office manager for Ray’s

insurance business which

was operated out of their

home in Minot.

Mary is survived by her

husband of 68 years, son

Dr. Brad (Jennifer) Buell,

Fargo, ND, daughters

Luanne (Floyd) Duchsher-

er, Minot, ND, and Karen

(Richard) Bakke, Fargo,

ND; sister Barbara Sexe,

Grand Forks; sisters-in

-law Joan Buell and Anna

Marie Struck; nine grand-

children and thirteen

great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded by

her parents, sister Marvyl

Runtzel and brothers-in-

law Harlan Sexe, Walter

Runtzel, Ray Struck and

Leo Buell.

There will be no re-

viewal or funeral as Mary

has bequeathed her body

to UND School of Medi-

cine Anatomy Depart-

ment.
