Ida Weber, 100, former-ly of Minot and Plaza died
on November 19, 2018 in
a Tempe, AZ healthcare
center.
Ida Marie Thunshelle
was born on August 26,
1918 in Olsoe Township
of Mountrail County near
Plaza, North Dakota to
Petter E. and Anna K.
(Iverson) Thunshelle. She
was raised on the family
farm, attended Baldy
Country School and gra-
duated from Plaza High
School in 1937. She con-
tinued her education at an
area business college and
studied music at the Mac-
Phail School of Music in
Minneapolis. As a young
adult she was employed
at Seaboard Finance Com-
pany in Minot for several
years.
Ida met the love of her
life Erven Weber while
singing in the choir at
Bethany Lutheran Church
in Minot. They were mar-
ried on October 6, 1960 at
Bethany. They made their
home in Minot where Mr.
Weber was a founding
partner of
Weber-Spaulding Ac-
counting Firm. The firm
later merged with Eide
Helmeke and Company.
Following Erv’s retire-
ment, they moved to Sun
Lakes AZ in 1984. Erv
died on February 5, 1995.
Ida had continued to re-
side in the Phoenix metro
area most recently at the
Healthcare Center Friend-
ship Village in Chandler.
Ida was a member of St.
Peter’s Lutheran Church
in Mesa, AZ and a former
member of Bethany Luth-
eran Church in Minot
where she sang in the
choirs of both churches
and for numerous wed-
dings. Her hobbies and
special interests included
flower gardening, travel-
ing and golfing.
Ida is survived by
numerous nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Ida was preceded in
death by her parents, hus-
band and siblings: Haaken
(Myrtle), Edmen (Joyce),
Petra (Fred) Strassberg,
Bertina (Clarence) Erick-
son and Gladys (Richard)
Spaulding and nephews:
Donald, Rolland and Roy
Strassberg.
Celebration of the Life
of Ida Thunshelle Weber:
Friday, December 7, 2018
at 11:00 a.m. in Bethany
Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment will be in
Rosehill Memorial Park,
Minot.
Visitation will be one
hour prior to the service
at the church.
Memorials are preferred
to St. Peter’s Lutheran
Church or Bethany Luth-
eran Church.
