Steve Peterson

Steve Peterson—-64,

Bowbells, passed away on

Tuesday, May 15, 2018 in

his home with his family

by his side.

Steven Wayne Peterson

was born on September

18, 1953, the son of

Robert and Clarann

(Frick) Peterson in Ken-

mare, ND. He was raised

and educated in the

Northgate and Flaxton

area, where he graduated

from Flaxton High School

in 1971. He then graduat-

ed from Minot State Busi-

ness College.

Steve worked as a ser-

vice writer for Erickson

Ford in Kenmare, ND. He

also worked for Northstar

Ford in Bowbells and later

as a pumper in the oil

fields. He then took over

the family farm near

Northgate. He owned

Freddie’s Bar for a short

time and in 1996, he start-

ed driving truck for Sa-

vage Services.

On September 5, 1986,

Steve was united in mar-

riage to Jonell Lucy in

Powers Lake, ND. They

made their home in

Bowbells, ND.

Steve enjoyed spending

time in the outdoors hunt-

ing, fishing, and camping.

He always had a hunting

dog by his side. You

would often find him sit-

ting on his chair in front

of his shop enjoying the

peace and quiet. He en-

joyed putting around the

country looking for some-

one to argue with. He was

always up for sharing

good stories around a

campfire with family and

friends. Harvest season

was one of his favorite

times of the year. He was

famous for assigning nick-

names to all his friends

and family. It was an in-

herited trait, for which he

was called “Freddie”,

“Loader”, and “Big Load”.

He was a member of

Stony Run Sportsman

Club and the Bethlehem

Lutheran Church. Steve

was a loving husband,

dad, grandfather, great-

grandfather, and friend.

He will be deeply missed

by all that knew him.

Steve is survived by:

Wife of 31 years, Jonell;

Children: Brian (Jennifer)

Peterson, Wendy Peter-

son, Ronda Peterson, Jus-

tin (Anna) Peterson and

Kayla (Jarret) Edwards;

grandchildren: Brianna,

Brooke, Hunter, Marlie,

Collin, Kage, Cameron,

Adelyn, Raelynn, Judson,

and Leland; great-

grandchildren: Madilyn,

Mahkai, Mahkari and

Maverick; one brother

Terry (JoAnn) Peterson;

brothers and sisters-

in-law: Jackie Peterson,

Todd (Sandy) Lucy,

Travis (Joy) Lucy, Tom

(Lani) Lucy; numerous

nieces, nephews and

cousins also survive.

Steve was preceded in

death by: his parents,

brother Bob Peterson and

his father and mother-

in-law Terry and Arlyce

Lucy.

Visitation: Saturday,

May 19, 2018 one hour

prior to the service at the

Bethlehem Lutheran

Church, Bowbells, ND.

Funeral Service: Satur-

day, May 19, 2018 at 11

am at the Bethlehem

Lutheran Church,

Bowbells, ND.

Burial: Bowbells Com-

munity Cemetery,

Bowbells, ND

Thompson-Larson Fun-

eral Home, Kenmare.

In lieu of flowers,

memorials may be given

in Steve’s memory to the

Stony Run Sportsman’s

Club.
