Bernice Helen Larson,

91, Minot, formerly of

Makoti, died Thursday,

April 27, 2017, in a Minot

hospital

Bernice Giesen was

born Dec. 15, 1925 to John

and Elizabeth (Bruder)

Giesen on a farm between

Plaza and Makoti and gra-

duated from Makoti High

School in 1943.

She married her best

friend, Clarence Larson,

on June 20,1944, in Plaza.

They made their home on

a farm near Makoti.

Clarence died in 1988 and

she later moved to Minot.

She was smart, hard-

working and true to her

Catholic faith, as well as

very independent. We

were blessed to have her

as our mother and she

will be greatly missed.

Bernice is survived by:

her children: Diane Put-

nam, Bismarck, Elaine

Larson, Minot, Jane

Rockwell, Arroyo Grande,

CA, Carlene Nelson

(Kevin), Minot, Lynnette

Frank, Neche, Bonita Er-

grandchildren and 13

great-grandchildren; sis-

ters, Verena Liebel, Wat-

baugh, Fort Collins, CO;

sisters-in-law, Madeline

Giesen, Stanley, Arlene

Giesen, Mandan and

Kathy Larson, West Fargo;

and many nieces and

nephews.

Rite of Christian Buri-

al: Wednesday, May 3 at

10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of

Grace Catholic Church,

Minot.

Visitation: Tuesday 3-5

p.m. in the church with a

vigil prayer service at 5

p.m.

Interment: St. Elizabeth

Catholic Cemetery, Mako-

ti.
