Robert Colin Ralston
A memorial service for
Robert (Bob) Colin Rals-
ton, 72, of Bottineau
County, was held on
Monday, Sept. 28, 2015,
at 2 p.m. at the United Par-
ish in Bottineau. Officiat-
ing at the service was the
Rev. Carol Wendel.
Sharon Marquardt was
the organist and Leo Jos-
tad was the soloist.
Bob was born Feb. 3,
1943, the son of Wilfred
and Kathryn (MacDonald)
Ralston. Bob graduated
from Bottineau High
School in 1961, attended
the North Dakota School
of Forestry and graduated
from Wahpeton State
School of Science with
certification in drafting
and technical design. He
moved to Denver, Colo.,
where he was manager of
maintenance at Adolf
Coors Brewing Co. in
1993. After 28 years at
Coors, he returned to
North Dakota and once
again lived in a rural set-
ting that he truly loved.
Most recently, he worked
as a crop adjuster for No-
dak Mutual Insurance.
In his early youth, Bob
spent many happy hours
fishing at the Scheflo
Bridge. That love of the
outdoors continued
throughout his life with
many hunting, fishing,
camping and boating
expeditions in the moun-
tains of Colorado and
beyond. For several years,
he participated with not-
able success in the sport
of trapshooting in Colora-
do and North Dakota.
Bob died Tuesday, Sept.
22, 2015, at a Bottineau
nursing home from com-
plications of pancreatic
cancer.
Bob is survived by: his
son, Steven (Amy) and
grandson, Michael of
Denver, Colo.; sister, Jean
(Milton) Schimke of Eau
Claire, Wis.; great-aunt,
Mary Taylor, Portland,
Ore.; nieces, nephews,
cousins and special friend
Judie Albright who pro-
vided care and encourage
ment during his difficult
illness.
He was preceded in
death by: his son, Micha-
el Robb Ralston; his
parents and uncles, Bill,
John and Don (Marty)
MacDonald.
Arrangements were
