Ronald White Owl

NEW TOWN Ronald Gene White Owl (Determined Eagle), 74, New Town, died Thursday, July 23, 2015, in his home.

He was born Jan. 3, 1941, in Elbowoods, the son of Madeline and Herbert White Owl Sr. He entered the Army on Aug. 11, 1964, serving his country while being stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia and Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and was honorably discharged on Aug. 10, 1966.

He married Ruth Holderman and they later divorced. He then married Edith May. They also divorced. He married Ruth Walker on May 10, 1969.

Survivors: wife, Ruth, of New Town; children, Troy White Owl, Watford City, Travis White Owl, Wahpeton, Scott White Owl, Velva, Paula Forness, Atlanta, Ga., Gene White Owl, Pueblo, Colo., Chief White Owl, Pueblo, Eileen White Owl, Gibson, Ga., Robert White Owl, New Town, and Rebecca White Owl, New Town; siblings, Mary Vigen, Bismarck, Karen Simmonds White Owl, New Town, Dayved White Owl, Pleasantville, Tenn., Roger White Owl, New Town, Randy White Owl, New Town, Lela White Owl, Minot, Wilson White Owl, of New Town, and Rhonda Woods, of Parshall; adopted brothers, Mark Skibsrud, Rick Larson, Sidrick Baker, Chuck Wells, Neal Hale, Keith Bear, Cary Enno, Doug Rensch and Tony Iverson; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday in the New Town Civic Center.

Wake: 5 p.m. Tuesday in the civic center.

Burial: Holy Family US Scouts Catholic Cemetery, rural New Town.
