WILLISTON — Select Water Solutions, LLC notified the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division of a produced water spill at the Stateline SWD #1 site that occurred Saturday, May 2, about 15 miles west of Williston.

Produced water is a byproduct of oil and gas extraction.

Select Water Solutions, LLC reported that 400 barrels of produced water were released onto location. As of Monday, May 4, 400 barrels were recovered.

A North Dakota Oil and Gas inspector has been to the location and will monitor any additional cleanup required.
