Driver charged with negligent homicide

A Minot woman now faces a count of negligent homicide charged in connection with a pedestrian crash near the Ward County Courthouse last month.

Jennifer Iverson, 44, was charged after an investigation into the crash at 9 p.m. Dec. 14, 2025, at the intersection of Third Street Southeast and East Burdick Expressway, which caused serious injuries to the alleged victim. The victim was transported to a Minot hospital, but died of their injuries on Dec. 18, 2025.

According to court documents, Iverson told investigators she had been driving north on Third Street when she heard a thump while passing through an intersection. However, surveillance footage reviewed by investigators allegedly showed Iverson turning left onto Third Street from Burdick Expressway before striking the victim on the crosswalk. According to the affidavit of probable cause, Iverson maintained her version of events when confronted with the video by investigators.

Iverson made her initial appearance in North Central District Court on Friday, Jan. 2, when her bond was set at $2,500, post 10%. Her next appearance is a preliminary hearing scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 5.

Starting at $2.99/week.
