Minot Elks donate to area organizations

The Minot Elks Lodge #1089 recently donated to several local organizations, including providing 42 bags of baby supplies to the Family Readiness Program at Minot Air Force Base for base families welcoming new babies.

The Elks provided 21 bags with $1,000 in baby supplies using funds from the Elks National Foundation Freedom Grant, according to Elks information. Another 21 bags were donated through the Gratitude Grant from the Elks National Foundation. The bags contain diapers, wipes, baby wash, lotion, towel, blanket, sleeper, toothbrush, bowl and a book.

Six other area agencies/programs also benefitted from the Gratitude Grant.

The Domestic Violence Crisis Center received $500 in gas cards for its clients. Receiving $500 checks from the Minot Elks to support their programs were Mouse River Players Children’s Theatre, Men’s Winter Refuge, Mrs. Field’s Closet, Second Story and N.D. Firefighter’s Museum.
