VELVA – The Velva American Legion and Velva Veterans Group are offering Thanksgiving support for those in need.

On Thursday, Nov. 20, starting at 6 p.m., they will be at the Velva City Park, giving away turkey, ham and potatoes. The giveaway of items will continue until supplies run out, according to information from the organizations.

People are asked to keep in mind:

– The giveaway is open to anyone in the community who needs assistance.

– Each person or family can receive only one donation to ensure more families can benefit from the event.

Anyone who knows someone who needs help or is interested themselves can stop at the park to gather some holiday essentials.
