School’s adult recreational classes shifts to Minot parks
The Minot Park District announced it is working with Minot Public Schools to offer adult recreation classes.
The recreation team at Minot Parks is working with staff from the Minot Adult Learning Center to transition courses previously provided to our community under the Minot Park District’s supervision.
The first class being offered is Aqua Zumba, with sessions starting on Nov. 17 and running
through Jan. 7. This session consists of 11 classes. Classes will be on Nov. 17, 19 and 24; Dec. 1, 3, 8 10, 15 and 17; and Jan. 5 and 7. Classes are from 6-7 p.m.. Registration is currently open and will close on Nov. 13. Contact the park district to register.
“These classes have traditionally been through the Adult Learning Center under the umbrella of Minot Public Schools,” said Minot Parks Executive Director Elly DesLauriers in a news release. “In conversations with MPS leadership and our team at the parks, we all agreed these classes fit the mission of the Minot Park District. It will certainly be a transition, but our goal is to continue to add classes our community has come to know, as well as some new classes to the list of programming opportunities.”
“In transitioning Adult Community Education classes to the Minot Parks and Recreation, we are
ensuring that the Community Education program continues to thrive under an organization built around recreation and community engagement,” said Dr. Scott Faul, superintendent of Minot Public Schools in the release.
