Minot man arrested in domestic incident

The Minot Police Department was dispatched about 11:19 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 11, to a northwest Minot residence for a report of a physical domestic incident, according to Minot Police information.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim. The victim’s initial report stated the suspect, Michael Christopher Kantack, 39, of Minot, had allegedly strangled the victim and held a knife to the victim’s throat while threatening to harm the victim and the victim’s four children. During the course of investigation, probable cause was established to arrest Kantack.

Kantack was arrested for the following charges, all Class C felonies: domestic violence-serious bodily injury, terrorizing (five counts), interference with telephone during an emergency call and preventing arrest. Kantack was transported to the Ward County Jail without further incident.
