AgCountry Farm Credit Services has announced it has awarded the Minot Vocational Adjustment Workshop ( Kalix) $50,000 as a recipient of the Rural Community Grant Fund (RCGF). The grant funds will go toward residential facility renovations.

Chris Haseleu, chief executive officer with Kalix, accepted the check toward the improvements.

“AgCountry is proud to provide grant funds to help with remodel costs of converting all the rooms in their two Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF) from double to single occupancy,” said Kevin DeGree, financial officer with AgCountry Farm Credit Services in Minot, in a news release. “This will enable them to reinforce a person’s right to privacy, ensure human dignity, safety and self-sufficiency for the residents of the two ICF homes. The improvements will also allow them to maintain confidentiality and reduce potential behavioral issues.”

AgCountry Farm Credit Services, Farm Credit Services of Mandan and AgriBank, established the Rural Community Grant Fund to assist in the implementation and development of projects and programs in communities and rural areas in western North Dakota which have been impacted by mineral exploration.

The Rural Community Grant Fund is currently accepting applications for future funding requests.

Starting at $2.99/week.
