STANLEY – Ashley Abrahamson, Farm Management Education instructor, joined the Dakota College at Bottineau team this fall and is located in Stanley.

She grew up in New Salem on a diversified farming and ranching operation. She attended North Dakota State University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in animal science, with minors in agribusiness and equine science. While at NDSU, she was a member of the traveling rodeo team, competing in breakaway roping, goat tying and barrel racing. She also manages a farming, ranching and trucking operation with her husband, Kyle, near Berthold.

DCB, through the North Dakota Farm Management Education Program, helps farmers, ranchers and individuals interested in farming assistance to meet their business and personal goals. The program provides individualized instruction and guidance, helping participants develop quality records that support sound business decisions. DCB has the largest program in the state with four instructors and 113 producers enrolled. Instructors for the DCB program are located in Bottineau, Minot, Rugby and Stanley.

While enrollment for the Farm Management Education program is officially conducted each fall, new producers are welcome to join at any time. Proven valuable for both new and established farmers and ranchers, this program supports anyone involved in production agriculture, according to DCB.

An enrolled farmer from the Bowbells area shares: “I appreciate the Farm Management Education Program. I like looking at how my numbers are trending from previous years. The program gives me the opportunity to go over my year-end numbers on an accrual basis and to see how my numbers stack up to other farmers in the area.”
