Chevron helps equip statewide food distribution center
FARGO – The ability to move millions of pounds of food safely and efficiently in the Great Plains Food Bank’s new statewide distribution center will soon be a reality thanks to a $150,000 investment from the Chevron Corp., the food bank announced.
Chevron’s gift will fund critical equipment including stand-up electric forklifts, pallet jacks, industrial scales and other tools necessary for safe and efficient operations within the new facility. These investments will strengthen the food bank’s ability to distribute more than 13 million pounds of food each year to neighbors experiencing hunger, according to Great Plains information.
The new statewide distribution center represents a transformational step forward for the Great Plains Food Bank. The larger facility will expand capacity to store and distribute food, enhance the volunteer space and create room for future growth in programs and services.
