NDAD Gibbens Memorial Grant applications open
GRAND FORKS – The North Dakota Association for the Disabled’s Gibbens Memorial Grant is now open for applications. This $5,000 grant is awarded to an organization to be used for health, welfare, social service or educational purposes for at-risk populations.
The grant honors NDAD co-founders, Faye and Ron Gibbens, and their vision to always help individuals in need. Inspired by their son, Mike, who was born with cerebral palsy, the North Dakota natives, built NDAD from a small Grand Forks parental support group to a statewide charitable nonprofit helping children and adults with a variety of disabilities and challenges.
Past recipients have used grant money to promote and foster inclusivity within school settings, for equine therapy programs to reduce anxiety and depression, to develop inclusive playgrounds and safety programs for individuals with developmental disabilities.
