Minot State University Theatre presents ‘The Year of Razzle Dazzle’

Minot State University Theatre has announced its 2025-26 season, “The Year of Razzle Dazzle,” featuring a lineup of productions and a partnership with Western Plains Opera to present “Chicago the Musical.”

“The season of Razzle Dazzle is meant to reach a wide variety of audiences. My hope is that the nature of the season will appeal to lovers of classic literature, children’s stories, and the magic of musicals,” said Sarah Honerman, assistant professor of theater in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts. “The selection allows students to experience a wide variety of styles, including the use of broad swords in ‘Macbeth,’ puppets in ‘James and the Giant Peach,’ and a very stylized movement with Fosse’s notorious moves from ‘Chicago.’ In turn, this will allow audiences to experience a multitude of worlds on campus.”

The season begins with William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” Oct. 24-26 in Aleshire Theatre. Evening performances are set for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24 and Oct. 25, with a 2 p.m. matinee Oct. 26.

“James and the Giant Peach,” by Roald Dahl and adapted by David Wood, will follow Feb. 13-15, 2026, in Aleshire Theater. Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13 and Feb. 14, with a 2 p.m. matinee Feb. 15.

The season concludes with Bob Fosse, Fred Ebb, and John Kander’s “Chicago the Musical” April 9-12, 2026, in Ann Nicole Nelson Hall.

Starting at $2.99/week.
