Convicted murderer found guilty for weapons possession

Shawnee Krall, whose murder conviction is currently on appeal with the North Dakota Supreme Court, was found guilty of two felony counts of possession of a weapon by an inmate after a two day jury trial in Minot.
Krall’s trial on the weapons charges ran for two days beginning on Monday, Sept. 15. According to court documents, Krall was charged with one Class A felony of possession of weapon by inmate-knife or dangerous weapon and one count of possession of a weapon by an inmate-shard or other weapon, a Class B felony.
Krall was charged two years ago after Ward County Jail staff discovered items in Krall’s cell block classified as dangerous weapons while he was awaiting trial in the murder of Alice Queirolo. Krall is currently serving a life sentence for the murder conviction. Oral arguments in Krall’s appeal of the murder conviction was held Wednesday, Sept. 17.
The jury returned their verdict on Tuesday, Sept. 16, finding him guilty on both counts. A sentencing date has been scheduled for Jan. 16, 2026.
