Colorado man dies in crash near Williston

WILLISTON – A Colorado man died in a two-vehicle crash at an intersection near Williston Friday, Sept. 12.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, about 12:59 p.m., a 1996 Peterbilt semi-truck, driven by a 29-year-old man from Lambert, Montana, was traveling southbound on 134th Avenue Northwest. At the same time, a 2002 Chevrolet S10 pickup, driven by a 23-year-old man from Grand Junction, Colorado, was traveling eastbound on 54th Street Northwest.

The Chevrolet S10 failed to stop at the intersection, which is controlled by a stop sign for eastbound traffic on 54th Street Northwest. The Peterbilt struck the Chevrolet S10 within the intersection.

The driver of the Peterbilt was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. The driver of the Chevrolet S10 was not wearing a seat belt and sustained fatal injuries in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the N.D. Highway Patrol.
