ND Dollars for Scholars awards statewide scholarships
Several Minot and area students have been announced as scholarship recipients of the North Dakota Dollars for Scholars program for the upcoming school year.
Minot students and their scholarship amounts are: Arin Oster, $1,000 James A. Guy Memorial Scholarship; Faith Malsom, $1,500 Returning Student and Graduate Student Scholarship; Jessica Kesler, $2,000 EducateND Scholarship; Lydia Repnow, $1,500 Returning Student and Graduate Student Scholarship; Ty Hughes, $1,500 Returning Student and Graduate Student Scholarship; Addyson Hughes, $1,500 Returning Student and Graduate Student Scholarship; Kendra Spitzer, $1,000 North Dakota Grain Growers Association Scholarship; Ella Kesler, $1,500 Professional Insurance Agents of North Dakota Scholarship; and Molly Frueh, $2,000 EducateND Scholarship.
Also receiving scholarships were Kaitlyn Larsen, Granville, $1,000 James A. Guy Memorial Scholarship, and Charlynn Klebe, Willow City, $2,000 EducateND Scholarship.
North Dakota Dollars for Scholars awarded $262,700 in scholarships to 161 students across North Dakota, according to information from the organization. In addition to the statewide scholarships, Dollars for Scholars chapters in 64 North Dakota communities awarded more than $1.6 million in scholarships to 1,529 students. Students who graduated from a North Dakota high school or were home educated in North Dakota qualify to apply for the scholarships distributed by the statewide North Dakota Dollars for Scholars Chapter.
Bank of North Dakota administers the state chapter which assists local chapters and oversees the scholarships given by the state chapter, which focuses on offering scholarships to students beyond their freshman year of college.
