Mountain biking trail care school set

BISMARCK — North Dakota Parks and Recreation has announced it will host the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) in Bismarck for a three-day Trail Care School, Sept. 2-5.

The Trail Care School brings together volunteers, club leaders, land managers and nonprofit partners to strengthen local trail systems. Participants will engage in classroom workshops followed by hands-on field training at the trail near Chief Looking’s Village in Bismarck. Under the guidance of IMBA’s expert instructors, attendees will gain practical skills in modern trail construction and maintenance techniques, including drainage strategies and trail assessment Partners that will attend the training next week include the U.S. Forest Service, N.D. Parks and Recreation Department, N.D. Forest Service, Bismarck Parks and Recreation, Mandan/Hidatsa/Arikara (MHA) Nation, North Country Trail Association. Save the Maah Daah Hey Trail Association, Maah Daah Hey Trail Association, Turtle Mountain Trails Association, Central Dakota Cyclist Club and Badland Conservation Alliance.
