GlobalND hosts Pakistani energy delegation
GlobalND is hosting a delegation of eight energy officials from Pakistan through Wednesday, Aug. 12, as part of a professional exchange program.
The visitors, who began their visit Aug. 6, traveled to the United States through the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), a U.S. State Department initiative. Their visit centers on the theme “Integrated Energy Planning for the Power and Petroleum Sectors.”
GlobalND, a nonprofit and entirely volunteer-led organization, promotes international engagement and cultural exchange through grassroots diplomacy. Originally established in 1993 as the Minot Area Council for International Visitors, the organization was created through collaboration between Minot State University, the City of Minot, Minot Education Association, and Minot Air Force Base. It now operates as part of the Global Ties US Network, continuing its partnership with the IVLP.
During their stay, the Pakistani officials will take part in a variety of scheduled visits arranged by GlobalND. These include discussions with the Oil and Gas Division of the North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources and a session with the Native Green Grow project of the MHA Nation. In addition to professional meetings, two local Minot families will host the visitors for dinner, providing a personal glimpse into American life.
Following their time in Minot, the group will travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to continue their program with additional meetings and demonstrations.
