Pedestrian struck by vehicle dies
A 92-year-old man who was struck by a vehicle while crossing an intersection in Minot on Saturday afternoon has died.
The Minot Police Department identified the man as Rollin W. Rogness, Minot, who succumbed to his injuries later that day after being transported to a Minot hospital for treatment.
According to Minot Police, Rollins was walking eastbound in the crosswalk across 16th Street Southwest when he was struck by a small SUV driven by Jean Marie Nelson, 81, Stanley. Nelson was traveling west on 31st Avenue Southwest and attempting to turn south onto 16th Street when she failed to yield to Rollins.
Rollins was pushed about 30 feet and sustained head and other injuries. Nelson was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
The incident is still under investigation by the Minot Police Department.
