Past month’s average temp above long-term average

The past month of June had an average temperature of 64.1 degrees F, which is 1.2 degrees above the 118-year, long-term average of 62.9 degrees, according to Austin Kraklau, who collects weather data at the North Central Research Extension Center, south of Minot.

Kraklau said the lowest temperature of the month was 47 degrees on June 11 and the highest temperature 90 degrees on June 2.

Total moisture for the month was 0.80 inches, which is 2.39 inches below the long-term average of 3.19 inches, Kraklau said. He said this was the least amount of moisture accumulation in the month of June since 1974, which only had 0.59 inches.
