First Western Bank has announced the election of Ryan Ackerman to its board of directors.

“As a long-standing business leader, Ryan brings strategic insight, a strong understanding of the region’s needs, and deep experience in engineering and business development,” the bank stated in a news release.

Ackerman is president and CEO of Ackerman-Estvold, an architectural and civil engineering firm headquartered in Minot. He co-founded the firm and has held leadership roles since its inception in 2003. In addition to his work at Ackerman-Estvold, Ackerman serves as vice president of Aksal Group, leading design and construction efforts to revitalize historic properties in downtown Minot. He also dedicates time to coaching and mentoring emerging entrepreneurs.

Ackerman earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from North Dakota State University in Fargo.
