Two Minot police officers receive ND Medal of Honor

Senior Officer Tyler Burtch and Officer Cullen Hall of the Minot Police Department were awarded the Medal of Honor on Tuesday by the North Dakota Chiefs of Police Association.
The Medal of Honor is the highest honor the association can bestow and is reserved for officers who display exceptional courage in the line of duty, knowingly placing themselves in imminent danger without hesitation, according to Minot Police Department information.
Hall and Burtch received the recognition for their heroic actions during an officer- involved shooting that occurred in October 2024. Their selfless response and professionalism reflect the highest ideals of law enforcement, according to the information.
Interim Chief Dale Plessas had the honor of assisting with the presentation of the award during the ceremony.
