All are members of the Minot Disabled American Veterans Chapter 4. Hoelscher will be returning to the North Dakota Veterans Home in Lisbon shortly. According to The Minot Daily News April 26, 2014, and June 24, 2019, editions, Hoelscher was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He was wounded during action in Korea. He was a member of the Minot American Legion Honor Guard for several years, retiring at age 88 in 2014, after participating in 300 funerals. Verstraete is in charge of the Minot American Legion Honor Guard/Color Guard.
