Peace Garden to offer adaptive chairs on 3 days
DUNSEITH – The International Peace Garden will have two adaptive chairs available for assisted mobility use on July 13, Aug. 9 and Sept. 11 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m
The motorized chairs run on tracks that allow them to move easily over varied terrain. Visitors with limited mobility are welcome to use the chairs for one-hour intervals to explore the garden with friends and family.
“We want everyone to be able to enjoy our beautiful garden,” Tim Chapman, CEO of the Peace Garden, said in a news release. “The chairs are easy to use and provide a comfortable and safe experience for visitors with limited mobility.”
The chairs are being provided by Annie’s House, a collaborative partnership between Anne Carlsen and Bottineau Winter Park. Annie’s House is a non-profit program offering adaptive recreational opportunities for individuals of all ages with disabilities, as well as veterans with a 10% or greater service-connected disability.
Advance sign-ups for chair use are recommended and can be made on the Peace Garden’s website.
