Former WSC employee files discrimination complaint
WILLISTON – A former instructor at Williston State College has filed a discrimination and retaliation complaint with the North Dakota Department of Labor and Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Jinpyo Lee filed a complaint in March, alleging he was subjected to a hostile work environment and racial and sexual harassment at the end of 2024, related to interactions with two staff members and a student. Lee was discharged on Jan. 10, following WSC’s investigation and filing of an internal report last December. His complaint states he was discharged in retaliation for his participation in a protected activity.
Williston State College provided a statement saying, “While we cannot comment on the specifics of personnel matters or ongoing legal processes, WSC is confident in the actions taken and stands by the outcome of its internal review. The college remains committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace for all employees and campus environment for students.”
The Department of Labor recently reported the complaint had yet to be reviewed.
