Water restrictions implemented in Burlington
BURLINGTON — Residents of Burlington will have to wait their turn to beat the heat after the city announced the start of soft restrictions on water usage.
According to a statement from the City of Burlington, the levels in the community’s water towers cannot keep up with the current usage.
“We understand it is dry, but we are starting soft water restrictions until further notice,” the announcement continued. “Water restrictions are enacted during times of droughts to preserve water for essential uses such as drinking and flushing toilets, as well as preserving water in case of fire. Hopefully this is a temporary restriction and we thank you for your cooperation.”
The restrictions limited residents of even numbered homes to watering only on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday while odd numbered homes may water Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
