Edison Elementary students plant pinwheels for child abuse awareness

Submitted Photo Edison Elementary School third grade students and their teacher, Whitney Erickson, with Holly Arnold, NDSU Extension parent educator, recently planted blue pinwheels and signs in the Edison pollinator garden. The pinwheels are a symbol to bring awareness to recognizing and preventing child abuse and neglect. The students were instructed about the meaning of the pinwheels and the importance of being kind to their peers. April was designated as Child Abuse Prevention Mont,h and individuals and communities were encouraged to work together to create safe and nurturing environments for their children.
