Driver dies in head-on collision near Turtle Lake
TURTLE LAKE – A 19-year-old female died in a head-on collision north of Turtle Lake on Monday, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
A release from the Highway Patrol stated the woman was driving a Ford Taurus southbound on N.D. Highway 41 north of Turtle Lake at about 9:54 p.m. The Taurus crossed into the northbound lane and struck a Chevrolet Tahoe head-on.
The 81-year-old male driver of the Tahoe and an 82-year-old female passenger were transported to a Turtle Lake hospital. The passenger sustained minor injuries, and the driver was life-flighted to a Minot hospital for treatment for serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
It was not immediately known if seatbelts were in use by any of the parties. The crash is still under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
