Minot Democrat seeks party leadership role

FARGO – Lisa Hermosillo of Minot is running for vice chair of the North Dakota Democratic-NPL alongside Adam Goldwyn of Fargo, who officially announced his campaign for reelection as party chair on Wednesday. Goldwyn was first elected to the role following the 2022 elections.

With the campaign slogan “Restore the Heart of North Dakota,” Goldwyn and Hermosillo aim to build grassroots energy across the state and recruit candidates in preparation for the 2026 elections, according to a news release.

Hermosillo, who ran for the state House in District 38 in 2024, emphasized the campaign’s focus on core values.

“We want to get back to the fundamental values of what it means to be a North Dakotan, an American, and a Democrat: patriotism, individual liberty, and policies that will help working people live their American dream,” she said in the release.

In addition to her candidacy, Hermosillo continues her advocacy work on military and veteran mental health, domestic violence victims’ rights and women’s healthcare. She also leads efforts in Minot to increase statewide civic engagement and keep her community informed on legislative developments.

The election for Dem-NPL leadership will take place at the Democratic-NPL Policy Committee meeting at a to-be-determined location in Bismarck on May 3.

Starting at $2.99/week.
