Boy Scout Troop 425 to honor 105th Eagle Scout on Dec. 29

Boy Scout Troop 425 of Minot will celebrate Logan “Will” Greenlee becoming its 105th Eagle Scout during a 2 p.m. Eagle Scout presentation on Sunday, Dec. 29, at the Congregational United Church of Christ Fellowship Hall at 430 N. Broadway, Minot.

Greenlee is the son of Natasha Greenlee and Destry Greenlee of Minot.

According to information provided by Troop 425, this past May he graduated from Minot High School, where he participated in the LEGO and photography clubs and the swim team. He has volunteered at both the North Dakota State Fair and the Norsk Hostfest food stands.

After high school graduation, Greenlee entered the U.S. Army in July and as he serves the country, he plans to also stay active in Scouts by becoming an assistant Scoutmaster at his next Army base. This past June he attended summer camp with his troop as an adult leader, and Greenlee attended the Scoutmaster training. His hobbies are photography, reading, art, pottery and baking.

His Scouting career began as a Cub Scout with Pack 428 of Bell Elementary School in Minot until the Pack folded. As a high school freshman, Greenlee joined Boy Scout Troop 425 in March 2021. He has held the following leadership positions in his Troop: Scribe, Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Quartermaster, and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader.

Greenlee has earned 39 Merit Badges, so he also will be receiving the Bronze, Gold and Silver Palms for earning 18 Merit Badges above the required 21 Merit Badges, a troop news release stated. He also has earned the following special awards: 50 Miler, BSA Lifeguard, Zero Hero and Troop Meeting Perfect Attendance Award in 2021, 2022, 2023 and Troop Camping Perfect Attendance Award in 2021, 2022, 2023.

Grennlee has earned 69 days and nights of camping as a Scout, which includes three weeklong summer camps at the Northern Lights Council Camp Wilderness in Park Rapids, Minnesota, and one weeklong summer camp at K-M Scout Ranch in Montana, along with three Tomahawk District Camporees and three District Klondike’s.

Greenlee attended the weeklong National Youth Leadership Training in June 2023. As a Scout, he attended the 2022 troop week-long High Adventure Canoe Trip to the Boundary Waters in Ely, Minnesota. He is also a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow, which is the BSA’s Honor Society of Campers.

His Eagle Scout project involved planning, organizing and coordinating both volunteers and materials in constructing the first bench canopy for the Minot Public School at Minot High School to protect students from the weather. With the help of 16 volunteers and more than 90 hours, the project was completed this past May.
