Firefighters respond to structure fire

Firefighters from the Minot Fire Department were dispatched about 4 p.m. on Thursday to a reported fire at a structure in the Wheatland Village Community on 16th Avenue Southeast, according to a news release from the City of Minot.

Upon arrival, crews from Station 4 encountered flames and heavy smoke coming from the structure. Firefighters confirmed that all occupants had safely exited the building before initiating fire suppression efforts.

Crews from all five stations responded to the scene, working collaboratively to bring the fire under control. The damage to the property, while significant, could have been much worse had it not been for the department’s quick response.

No injuries were reported. The residents have been connected with the Red Cross for assistance.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
