The past month of August had an average temperature of 66 degrees which was 0.8 degrees cooler than the 117-year, long-term average of 66.8 degrees, according to Austin Kraklau of the North Central Research Center, south of Minot.

He said the lowest temperature of the month was 44 degrees on Aug. 8 and the high was 93 degrees on Aug. 2.

The total moisture for the month was 1.38 inches which is 0.57 inch below the long term average of 1.95 inches, according to Kraklau.
