Williston man injured in motorcycle crash
WILLISTON – A Williston man was injured when the motorcycle he was driving crashed in Williston Monday.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Derek Wehrman, 39, driving a 2013 Yamaha motorcycle, was going north in the 400 block of 32nd Avenue West. The motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and Wehrman lost control while negotiating a slight left-hand curve and struck the east curb. The motorcycle struck a fire hydrant and came to rest in the road. The crash occurred at 8:29 p.m.
Wehrman sustained serious injuries. He was transported to CHI St. Alexius in Williston and later flown to a Minot hospital. Wehrman was charged with DUI, according to the Highway Patrol.
The 400 block of 32nd Ave West was shut down for about an hour and a half for the crash investigation.
